Went to McAllen for a work conference and my group had an itching for Italian food. Read some great reviews about Bella Mia, so we decided to give it a shot. First, a little hard to find. The address is a section of businesses, and the restaurant is located in section "D" of the complex. Once we entered, we were confronted by a very friendly staff who told us to sit wherever we would like. There was already a table of about 15 people, so that was a good sign. Ordered our drinks which were delivered very quick. Friendly waitress took our food order, and food was out in under 10 minutes. Portion sizes were very generous! I ordered the chicken parmigiana with fettuccine Alfredo. Wow!! It was so good! My husband ordered the eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti and red sauce and enjoyed it. While this was by no means the best Italian food I have had, I was amazed at the quality of good and the friendliness of the staff. I did not expect good Italian food in McAllen. Highly recommended!
Food made from scratch on each plate- people need to understand it's not fast food. Drink and relax. Most delicious meals.
We ordered eggplant parmigiana dinners and salads last night. It was late at night so we weren't expecting much. It turned out our dinners were fantastic. Everything was cooked to perfection. No hard eggplant and the sauce was great! We are here from NYC and this was a better meal than most of the places we have in our own city.
Try the vodka sauce it's delicious. The lasagna is supreme. Actually everything is delicious.
The best authentic Italian restaurant in McAllen. I would like to see Cannoli and other traditional Italian desserts on the menu. This is why I didn't give 5 stars.
